16th June 2015 (Tuesday) was a special day for GIS as we celebrated our ‘Support Staff Day’ for the first time. Our support staff tirelessly do very hard work to keep the classrooms and school area clean and pleasant for the students and staff.

As a token of appreciation, the day started with a red carpet welcome to all our workers, by management team, teachers and students. Each worker was gifted a bouquet by the principal. A special assembly was held to mark the day and a speech was given by a student and a teacher thanking them for the work they do every day. A token of appreciation was presented to every worker by the Principal, followed by a special breakfast organized by school for our hard working support staff. Sentiments written by all the students of the school were displayed in the foyer. The students have written touching messages to show they value the hard work done by the workers.
To make the day more special GIS visited IGMH to appreciate and thank the ward attendants for the work they do for their patients. On behalf of the school, the school captains awarded a gift for every ward attendant and presented a token of appreciation as well. This visit to IGMH was the first step by GIS going into the community to value what people do to sustain pleasant environments for the benefit of the people living in it.
GIS also takes the pride in sharing the work done by students and staff to keep the school clean and safe. This is enhanced with activities like, the GIS family engaging in the cleaning activity held during the last two periods of the day as part of celebrating Support staff Day.
