GIS plans to introduce a Community Service Programme in 2016 with the objective of instilling a sense of community spirit in its students and teachers.

The programme aims to promote  personal, social, and civic development of our students and staff and give them experience in working with community-based organizations and individuals. The programme will also foster real-time skills in communication as well as deal with different types of people and situations. The experience they gain will ultimately help develop greater empathy for other and bring students and staff together in mutual respect and harmony with each other, the community, and foster the Islamic spirit of brotherhood.
The activities are planned with the level of students in mind and will be carried out throughout the year.

On the occasion of the International Teachers’ Day 2015, two preliminary activities in the name of “GIS for the Community” were held. Toys and nappies were donated to  Kudakudhinge Hiyaa in Villingili  on 12th October  and trees were donated  to Rehendhi School in Hulhumale’ at a special assembly at Rehendhi School today.

GIS thanks its students and parents for their generous contribution and looks forward to receive their cooperation and support when  implementing the Community Service Programme in 2016
