CHILDREN’S DAY CARNIVAL!

{flike}

A Carnival was held in GIS to celebrate Children’s Day, on the 10th of May. Students came to school at different times and took part in the activities in the stalls.

Students were given a red carpet welcome and received at the gate by the SMT and the teachers. As students were given the opportunity to wear costumes of their choice, it was great to see that a lot of students dressed for the day. Especially the senior students had taken this to heart and showed amazing creativity in their costumes.
A short assembly was held for each group, followed by activities in the stalls and then a party in the class. In the assembly, the Principal called on the students to be respectful with each other, to show kindness and to be forgiving. He requested the senior students to take care of the younger students, to be kind to them and to be good examples to them.
The students played electronic games in the many booths set up in the hall, experienced doing Zumba and Karate, did craft work, did face painting and sang in the karaoke stall.
It was a fun filled day at GIS and the students went home, with a handmade personalized card  presented to them by their teachers and a gift from the school.
