GIS Taekwondo Club, under Sharks Taekwondo Academy, has been actively training students since 2019. The program follows the official Kukkiwon black belt syllabus, focusing on discipline, confidence, and physical development alongside strong technical skills. Over the years, several students have successfully achieved black belt status, while many have earned various medals through championships conducted within GIS School and beyond. Students are also given opportunities to participate in national-level competitions, including Maldives National Taekwondo Championships, as well as events aligned with World Taekwondo standards.
Students who graduate with a Taekwondo black belt are further provided with opportunities within Sharks Taekwondo Academy to continue their journey in the sport. These pathways include becoming assistant coaches, developing as certified referees, and advancing as competitive athletes at both national and international levels—ensuring long-term growth, leadership, and continued involvement in Taekwondo.
