Writer’s perspective on football

1+

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to you, as I have a few things to discuss regarding your article, “Love it or hate it.”

You had stated some of your personal views in the article, and I feel that some of the facts that you had mentioned were rather unfair and prejudiced towards football. You stated that football brings out the worst in men, and that it makes them obsessive, boring, violent. However, in my opinion, I feel that it is unfair to shun such a large amount of people, based on something they are passionate about. For instance, if another person were to shun the ‘writing community’ as a whole, you would feel that it is unfair to stigmatize such an important field in the society that provides people with not just something to be passionate about, but also with numerous career opportunities.

In conclusion (speaking from one of your readers’ perspectives), I feel that you could try to be a little more considerate of certain career fields as well as communities and try to write from a more neutral standpoint that will not offend anyone, just as any good unbiased reporter would do. Thank you for taking some time to read my letter.

Yours faithfully,
