Serve and Learn

Students should spend some of their free time serving the community.  Express your thoughts.

             These days, community services are becoming highly essential, considering the increase in social problems. Most of the people claim that students should not be forced to volunteer as it may be difficult for them to manage and concentrate in their studies. Contrary to popular belief, I personally believe that community service is quite indispensable due to a myriad of reasons.

           One of the reasons is that it could be the perfect platform to experience the outer world. They would be more open-minded, learn to empathize, not to mention be more considerate, developing a sense of responsibility. Without a shadow of doubt, this would help accelerate the development of a human society. Furthermore, this would not only help the students, but also the community, creating awareness and receiving contributions for a better future.

           Another reason is that, our young people would be able to master certain skills. For example, time management could be learned by managing both school work and providing community service. In addition, they could get an opportunity to put their classroom lessons to life, making them realize the value of education. Needless to say, there is a high chance for them to acquire skills in critical thinking as well.

          In conclusion, I am inclined to believe that all young people should volunteer and contribute to the community by providing services. Undeniably, our young people would grow to be well-educated, consoling and conscientious.
