Making an important decision

2+

Dear Zaya,

I bet you’ve been snowed under with piles of assignments as it’s the end of your semester. Well, I’ve recently been faced with an equally nerve-wrecking situation.

You might be wondering where I plan on continuing my studies as it is the end of year 10. Might I say that my house has faced multiple squabbles to finally make a decision.  I was left with two options, to move to Singapore and join a boarding school or move to my aunts in London. You’d already know that I favoured the second option.

This decision is indeed a stepping stone in my life as it paves my future for the next two years. Knowing me, you are well aware that I’ve put this matter on ice to explore more options. My parents and I are delighted that I finished my exams with flying colours, but this decision was incredibly stressful as I had to leave my family for the first time in my life.

In the end, I decided to go with Singapore as my dad frequently goes there on business trips. However, it is closer to home so I wouldn’t feel home-sick. For me, this decision is satisfying as I practically grew up in Singapore. I feel happier knowing my parents can come visit me every holiday.

I’m looking forward to seeing you this summer and having a blast before school starts again.

Love,

Zeyba
