An Omnivorous Species

Are you a big lover of nature? Do you find yourself sympathizing and feeling emotional over the animals that get slaughtered for their meat? If so, here is why I think that we should cherish the blessing of nature and consume animal meat.

For decades, the concept of being a vegetarian has been a popular motion of debate. I for one am of the view that meat is a central part of our diet. In fact, it is rich in protein and therefore contributes to the development of our body, especially for the growth of young children. Not to mention it is a vital source of energy that helps us lead healthy lives and protects us from fatigue when leading hectic lives. The human body requires adequate quantities from all the food groups daily. Hence being a vegetarian is turning a blind eye to the requirements of our body and overall health.

Furthermore, it is not plausible to think that consuming meat will contribute to the extinction of animals. If sustainable farming methods are carried out, we can ensure that our source of meat is well maintained. Moreover, the idea of the whole world turning vegetarian is not practical as it will do injustice to the various cultures and traditions that practice farming and consuming meat. This would be a way of disrespecting our ancestors as well.

On a closing note, I firmly believe that some animals were blessed to this world for their meat to be eaten. It is in our nature to consume meat. Let’s embrace and love nature by preventing greater threats to animals such as poaching for their skin and teeth.
