A report on: A visit to the cement factory

4+

On 22nd June 2018, all the science stream students were taken to Thilafushi to learn about how the gas cylinders were filled. We were accompanied by our Physics teacher, Mr. Prasad and class teacher Mr. Antony.

Even-though, the temperature was 30 C we enjoyed the trip and learnt a lot of new things. First of all, we went to see where and how the gas was purified for storing. After the process was explained we went to see how the cylinders were packed for storing.

After having lunch, we wore protective glasses and coats to go see how cement packets were packed. Although, the place was dusty we managed to closely observe the packing. All the workers were very helpful and answered all our questions patiently. They even let us try to pack the cement after instructing us on how to do it.

Overall, the trip was very eventful and we learnt a lot of new things that helped us in our academics. However, one thing I did not enjoy was the weather. Next time, when we go on a field trip the school can try to take us on a day with appropriate weather. Another factor to consider is allowing more teachers to accompany us, the few teachers who accompanied, struggled to manage all the students.

Formatted well, a few more suggestions would be useful to plan the next trip.
