Are Video Games Your Children’s Enemy?

In this modern age, the number of children who play video games for leisure, keeps increasing. And from these children, a large percentage would be school students. Even though there is no denying the popularity of video games, I believe video games are more harmful than any other indoor games.

To start, video games could end up casting a lot of money. Children would just want to play more games as they are released, leading to more parents having to pour their earnings into buying games for their children. In addition, video games also use up a lot of a person’s free time. Video games could end up being very addictive, meaning children spend too much time playing them, which could even lead to sleep deprivation, which would be quite detrimental.

In addition, if students play too many video games, their studies could be affected negatively. The focus of the students could shift from their studies to video games, leading to poor academic performance. Video games could also make children anti-social. If they become too immersed in the video game experience, they would not be able to maintain real relationships. Lastly, video games tend to encourage abnormal behavior which could transform to behavioral changes in real life.

To summarize, video games have many cons and so I believe video games are not good for school children, and I hope school children reduce the amount of video games they play.
