The bothering cockroach

It was a sunny day. I was having a nice time playing a crossword puzzle with my sister indoors. Just then I thought I saw something moving on the floor. I muttered to myself, “Just my imagination” when I felt something tickle on my leg. I looked down and saw a big, fat, enormously monstrous cockroach climbing my leg.
I let out a shriek and kicked my leg. The chair went flying while the letters bounced like springs. My sister was furious as she was winning but when she saw the cockroach upside down on the floor she screamed so loud that I felt the glass and windows were shattered. Our parents came flying to see what was happening but sadly the cockroach had somehow escaped.
Later at lunch when I took a mouthful of rice what I saw on my plate made my eyes almost pop out and roll onto the floor. It was the bothering cockroach which was back at work again! I jumped a mile and took a spoon to attack it but it took flight and went into my bedroom. This time I have had enough. I switched the fan off and closed the balcony door when I saw the cockroach on the ceiling. I jumped on my bed and grabbed a broom swung it as hard as I could. The cockroach bounced off the wall and lay dead on the floor.

That night I was getting ready to sleep. When I tucked my blanket I saw another cockroach on my bed with me again!

    What a day! Experiencing katsaridaphobia?
Enjoyed reading. You have organised the details skillfully and given a vivid encounter with the cockroach.

I liked the humor in your story. Good choice of words – I was picturing the adventure till the end and laughed with the idea of how you must have slept when the cockroach was back for battle.
