Hong Kong Challenge Cup 2025
Having students from our school represent the Maldives National Netball Senior team and National (U-21) at the Hong Kong Challenge Cup 2025 is a moment of immense pride and significance. Their participation at this level showcases the dedication, skill, and sportsmanship nurtured within our school community.
Shiba Hussain Suhail and Tazkiya Mohamed Maushooq not only competed on an international stage but also contributed to the team’s overall success, securing silver and bronze medals for the nation. Their journey exemplifies perseverance, teamwork, and the ability to perform under pressure. These are values that will inspire their peers and future athletes within our school.
Beyond individual achievement, their presence on the national team highlights the role of our school in developing talent that can compete at elite levels. Professional Development Session with Shri Educare ltd
On Saturday, 14th June 2025, GIS, in collaboration with Shri Educare ltd., hosted a 6-hour Professional Development session for our dedicated primary grade teachers (Grades 1 to 5). The training was facilitated by Ms. Sakina Gadiwala, an accomplished external consultant with over 18 years of experience in early and primary education.
Currently serving as Early Years Consultant at Shri Educare, and an IB Programme & Evaluation Leader, Ms. Sakina led three engaging and insightful sessions:
- Active and Inquiry-Based Learning
- Play-Based Learning in Math
- Alternative Assessment Strategies
With her extensive background in IB, Cambridge, and Finnish curricula, Ms. Sakina provided valuable strategies and perspectives to enhance classroom practices.
Teachers were awarded certificates upon successful completion of the session, acknowledging their dedication to continuous professional growth and excellence in education.
