Meet the Young Artists of GIS

gis-in-actionAs part of voluntary service to the community, four students of Grade 10: Malda, Malaha, Malha and Razan volunteered to prepare an advertisement of a programme that is broadcasted by Voice of Maldives using their artistic skills. They have drawn and painted a beautiful art work that depicted the programme. These students have shown genuine interest and enthusiasm which might be a pathway for bringing fine art to the very young.

We believe that providing such opportunities for such students will create interest in them to offer voluntary service to the community. Also such chances can acquaint children with the world of art. GIS is always ready to cultivate a sustained awareness and interest in art by exposing our students to selected prints such as the wall prints of Voice of Maldives.

GIS Career Fair 2012: ‘My Career – My Future’

A Career Fair by the name ‘My Career -My Future’ organised by the management of the school began today, 19th October 2012 at 1600 hrs. The fair will be in motion until 1800 hrs and then will be continued tonight from 2030-2200hrs.

The prime aim of holding such an event is to provide an open environment for students to seek information on various professions available in Maldives. In this regard, seven institutions namely, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Science, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Cyrix College, Clique College, MAPS High International and MAPS College have participated in the fair to disseminate important and relevant information about the available courses and studies at their institution.

The fair was inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education, Mr. Ibrahim Ismail. Students from all the schools in Male’ were informed about this fair. Students of GIS and some from other schools have visited the fair in the evening.

We believe this is a good opportunity for all secondary students since the fair provides a platform for students to start thinking about their career - their future.
